Présentation générale

I am a post-doctoral researcher in linguistics and natural language processing. I'm currency working at the LLF (Université de Paris), as part of the ANR project Démonext (ANR-17-CE23-0005).

I received a PhD in Linguistics from Université Toulouse Jean Jaur-s in 2020 under the supervision of Nabil Hathout and in collaboration with Cécile Fabre (CLLE, CNRS and Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès). Entitled "Confrontation of derivational processes and semantic categories in distributional semantic models", my thesis dealt with the use of distributional semantics to provide a semantic fine-grained account of morphologically constructed words. The manuscript is not yet available online, but I will gladly send it on demand until its online diffusion.

Projets de recherche

My research interests are related to distributional semantics, lexical semantics, morphology, corpus linguistics and lexicon. I'm focusing on the semantic analysis of the lexicon through distributional semantics and corpus linguistics. I use morphological marking as a gateway, but my research is not limited to morphologically constructed words.

My current contract within the Démonext project is dedicated to the quantitative exploitation of morphological databases in the context of affix rivalry. More precisely, I'm working on three main axes. The first one is dedicated to the distinction between -euse and -rice French agent nouns, and its intersection with the opposition between learned and non learned lexicon. This study is led in collaboration with Olivier Bonami (LLF, CNRS, Université de Paris). The second axis deals with the competition between the suffixes -eur and -oir in the formation of instrument nouns in French, and involves Olivier Bonami and Lucie Barque (LLF, CNRS, Université de Paris). The third axis is dedicated to the statistical modelling of affix rivalry in French demonym formation. This work is done in collaboration with Juliette Thuilier (CLLE, CNRS and Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès) and Delphine Tribout (STL, CNRS, Université de Lille).

I'm also involved in two research projects. First, I helped building a French-Swiss project on morphosemantic demotivation in morphological pairs, led by Cécile Fabre (CLLE, CNRS and Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès) and Richard Huyghe (Université de Fribourg). This project was granted a funding by the Germaine de Staël French-Swiss PHC. Second, I contribute to the Swiss FNS project led by Richard Huyghe (Université de Fribourg) dealing with the constitution, annotation and exploitation of an extensive lexical database on deverbal nouns.

Enseignement

My post-doctoral contract does not include teaching.

During my PhD thesis, I taught various linguistic classes (including history of linguistics, morphology, lexicography and corpus analysis) to undergraduate students and NLP classes (distributional semantics) to master students at Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès and Université de Paris. I also supervised NLP Master's theses at Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès.
